Iom Bioworks raised Rs 4 Cr Seed funding from IPV

Personalized microbiome-driven healthcare startup Iom Bioworks, based in Bengaluru, has raised Rs 4 crore in its seed round, which was led by Inflection Point Ventures (IPV).

The money raised will go toward expanding the scientific and commercial teams, securing intellectual property, bolstering marketing, and scaling up core infrastructure.

Iom Bioworks, which was founded in 2022 by Dr. Samik Ghosh, Dr. Hiroaki Kitano, and Bipin Pradeep Kumar, is promoting personalized healthcare by identifying and therapeutically modifying important gut bacteria to improve human health and wellbeing.

The company’s proprietary platform provides dietary and prebiotic recommendations based on each microbiome by fusing artificial intelligence with extensive biological network mapping.

Iom Bioworks says it has already served more than 500 clients in its first year, obtained two patents (two more are in the advanced stages), and published its research in prestigious scientific journals. With pan-India logistics, it provides a full digital experience, including customized wellness plans and at-home gut profiling kits.
