IoT service provider UnaBiz raised $25 M Pre-series C funding from KOIF III and KCCS

Massive internet of things (IoT) service provider and integrator UnaBiz, based in Singapore, has announced the successful first close of its $25 million pre-series C funding, in which KYOCERA Communication Systems Co., Ltd. and KDDI Open Innovation Fund 3 (KOIF III) participated.

This funding round comes after UnaBiz successfully acquired and integrated Sigfox 0G technology. Una Biz said in a statement on Thursday that it is currently operating with a robust and profitable profit and loss statement as a result of ongoing revenue growth and streamlined operations.

As per the statement, the additional funds will be utilized to bolster the strategies of expanding the security industry, strengthening market penetration in logistics and supply chain, and expanding utilities through hybridization.

UnaBiz has connected an additional one million security industry devices in the past year, it is reported.

In order to expand its telemetry and anti-jamming services internationally, the company is currently investing in joint ventures with significant auto and motorcycle manufacturers.

The company is focusing on use cases like pallets and package tracking as it looks to build on the recent success of its WiFi-geolocation services driven by artificial intelligence (AI).

By utilizing multi-tech network technologies in additional hybrid solutions, the company is also increasing its market share in the gas and water utility segment.

UnaBiz is reported to have added 4 million new devices to the global 0G network in just two years, making it the largest unlicensed LPWAN network in the world.

“Our transformation is complete! Since the acquisition of Sigfox 0G technology, we have unleashed its full potential by opening up the tech, and unlocking fresh opportunities for IoT deployments and applications across the entire LPWAN ecosystem,

“Today, we are one of the largest aggregators of massive IoT solutions globally, with 13.5 million devices connected, of which four were added in the last 24 months alone.” said Henri Bong, Chief Executive Officer and Co-Founder of UnaBiz.

According to Alexis Susset, Chief Technology Officer and Executive Vice President of UnaBiz Japan & South Korea, Japan has been instrumental in UnaBiz’s expansion, as evidenced by the fast-growing network of partners and clients that are implementing and growing solutions in the company’s three main verticals: security, supply chain and logistics, and utilities.

“KDDI and KCCS’s continued investment reinforces our commitment to advancing massive IoT technologies and business models with our Japanese partners,” he added.
