IPV led $400K Pre-seed funding raised by gaming startup MetaShot
A pre-seed round led by Inflection Point Ventures raised $400K for the gaming startup MetaShot in Bengaluru. An early-stage gaming-focused fund and well-known angel investors, including the Dineout founders Ankit Mehrotra, Sahil Jain, and Khalid Qazi, among others, participated in the round as well.
According to a press release from MetaShot, the money will be used to increase the team size, make investments in growth and marketing, and fund R&D initiatives.
The MetaShot platform, which was created by Prince Thomas, Ranjit Behera, and Ajith Sunny, allows users to enjoy an immersive cricket experience in the convenience of their living rooms. The platform makes the game social by enabling users to play with local friends or complete strangers from around the world.
MetaShot is currently active in the Bengaluru market and intends to expand to other cities in the second quarter of the current fiscal year, with further ambitions to soon enter other cricket-playing countries.
Gaming behemoth Krafton also declared on Thursday that it would commit $150 million over the following two to three years to startup gaming and tech companies in India.
