Irish Tech Challenge 2024 invites applications from SA startups
Irish Tech Challenge South Africa, which aims to promote collaborations between Irish and South African startups, has extended an invitation to apply to South African startups.
Together with implementing partners Wits University’s Tshimologong Digital Precinct (South Africa) and Dogpatch Labs in Ireland, the Irish Tech Challenge is run in collaboration with the Department of Science and Innovation (DSI), the Technology Innovation Agency, and the Embassy of Ireland in South Africa.
The 2024 Irish Tech Challenge seeks to expand the reach of tech startups owned by South Africans that are in line with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) of the UN, building on the success of previous editions. As part of the Tech Challenge’s mission to address urgent global challenges while promoting economic development and job creation in South Africa, companies in the fields of clean and green technology, healthcare, education, and water sanitation and hygiene are especially encouraged to apply.
Along with a curated 10-day trip to Ireland to connect with global customers and partners, Ireland’s top tech expertise and business acceleration, and increased visibility through support from both the Irish and South African governments, the seven selected startups will receive a range of benefits. These include grant funding of EUR10,000 (US$11,000) each.
Applications are open until April 26.
