Israeli Hyper Food Robotics secured funding from Velocity Ventures
The anchor investor in Israel-based Hyper Food Robotics has been named Velocity Ventures, a venture capital firm that specializes in the travel and hospitality industries.
Hyper is a rapid food preparation company that assembles 40-foot autonomous robotic “box” kitchens, which was founded in 2019 by Udi Shamai, Harel Shafran, and Yariv Reches. All aspects of cooking, from food preparation to packing, are handled in these facilities.
One kitchen can manufacture 120 pizzas every hour using the company’s flagship equipment, which cooks an order of pizza from beginning to end in eight minutes. Clients may operate restaurants off-site thanks to this technology’s plug-and-play functionality.
In 2023, the company will begin to deploy its automated pizza kitchens.
After noticing the effects of increased labour expenses and the difficulty in hiring employees, Shamai, the CEO of Hyper and a Pizza Hut Israel owner, founded the business.
According to the business, unattended kitchens may run three times as effective as those that are regularly staffed. Labor, rental, and food waste costs are cut via the use of its product. Additionally, the autonomous kitchens facilitate adherence to requirements for food safety and quality.
With a compound yearly growth rate of 12.3%, the market for food robots is anticipated to expand to US $3.9 billion by 2027.
