Koparo raised $1.5 M Pre-Series A funding from Saama Capital

A pre-Series A round led by Saama Capital raised $1.5 million for the D2C home cleaning company Koparo. Along with existing investor DSG Consumer Partners and new angel investors Rajesh Sawhney, Sridhar Sankararaman, Ramesh Menon, Fluid Ventures, M Venture Partners, and others took part in the round.

Saama and DSG Capital contributed $750K to the company’s seed round last year, and they have now contributed twice as much to the current round.

Koparo claims that the money will be invested in brand building, product innovation, and expanding the company’s offline presence.

Koparo, a company founded by Simran Khara, provides a natural substitute for common cleaning supplies. In terms of core cleaning, specialty cleaning, and accessories, the company currently offers a portfolio of more than 15 products and over 30 SKUs. Its products are offered through its own website, which generates about 40% of the company’s overall revenue, as well as 70 Reliance Retail and Modern Bazaar stores.

Koparo was chosen by Accel for the Founder Stack program, where they received three months of mentorship from the VC firm to build and scale.
