Lenskart raises stake in AjnaLens parent to nine percent with Rs 8 Cr investment

Lenskart Solutions has made another investment in extended reality (XR) startup Dimension NXG, the parent company of AjnaLens, taking its ownership in the company to 9.01%.
The eyewear retailer invested nearly Rs 8 crore to acquire a further 1.8% stake in Dimension NXG. As per Lenskart’s regulatory filing, the deal was completed on September 13, 2026.
The transaction marks Lenskart’s third investment in Dimension NXG this year. The company had earlier purchased a 0.68% stake in February, followed by another 1.69% stake in July. Together, the three deals have raised Lenskart’s holding from 4.84% to 9.01%.
Lenskart has spent around Rs 18.5 crore across these transactions to increase its stake by 4.17%.
The company said the investment will deepen its engagement with the XR, artificial intelligence (AI) and smart wearable technology ecosystem. It also aims to explore technology-driven opportunities in smart eyewear.
Lenskart initially invested in AjnaLens in July 2025 as part of its efforts to develop AI-enabled smart glasses. The collaboration brings together Lenskart’s capabilities in eyewear design and engineering with AjnaLens’ expertise in XR technology.
AjnaLens was founded in 2014 by Pankaj Raut, Abhijit Patil and Abhishek Tomar. The startup builds XR-based hardware and software solutions for industries such as defence and enterprise.
Dimension NXG, AjnaLens’ parent company, recorded a 35% drop in turnover, falling to Rs 10.36 crore in FY26 from Rs 15.97 crore in FY24.
The latest investment reflects Lenskart’s growing interest in smart eyewear. The company has already introduced products including Phonic audio glasses and is developing AI-powered smart glasses. It has also partnered with Qualcomm to build the technology stack for its smart glasses.
