Reliance Industries Ltd (RIL) Chairman Mukesh Ambani stated that he is looking forward to Bills on data privacy and cryptocurrencies, claiming that India is putting in place the most forward-thinking laws and regulations.
While emphasising citizens’ right to privacy, Ambani stated that the country needs the appropriate legislation and regulatory framework.
He said that regulation should be done in such a way that it does not inhibit innovation but protects end users, speaking at the Infinity Forum organised by the International Financial Services Centres Authority (IFSCA).
“And again, I have to say India is putting the most forward-looking policies and regulation in place,” Ambani said.
The millionaire business magnate also predicted that the confluence of several technologies will quickly revolutionise the planet, with the next two decades bringing greater changes than the previous 100 years.
“So, five or six technologies are converging at the same time, which I think will transform the world, and what we will see in next 20 years is what we have not seen in the last 100 years. This transformation is taking place as we speak, and I believe like any transformation, this transformation will take place across geographies and across social classes,” the RIL Chairman said.
