LowCarbon Earth (LCE) 2023 is a climate tech accelerator for startups tackling climate change and pollution that was established by the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) in collaboration with Massive Earth Foundation (MEF).
The accelerator is looking for founders who are eager to use their creative ideas and solutions to address the climate crisis and reduce pollution, the companies said in a joint press release.
The program provides early-stage entrepreneurs with access to resources such as internal expertise, strategic relationships, financial resources, and mentorship that are not available to them. It gives brand-new businesses a way to connect with already-established businesses that are engaged in climate change initiatives.
It will concentrate on developing an ecosystem with fantastic investment and growth opportunities for early-stage startups to understand the climate tech market and trends. In order for businesses to have a solid foothold in the market, the program aims to identify their needs and requirements.
LowCarbon.Earth will operate under a hybrid model, with the first three months of sessions taking place virtually and the final bootcamp taking place in person at COP28 in the UAE. Through the three-month virtual accelerator program, the chosen startups will receive mentoring and advice from subject-matter experts, access to funding, and networking opportunities. Additionally, it will have six challenging sessions that will give the startups insightful information and useful direction.
With a focus on afforestation, ecological restoration, and livelihood, Zerodha established the non-profit Rainmatter Foundation in 2021 with the goal of assisting companies, grassroots organizations, and people working to address climate change-related issues.
