Matiks raises $3.1 M Pre-series A funding from Tanglin Ventures

With the help of Info Edge Ventures, boAt co-founder Aman Gupta, Unacademy co-founders Gaurav Munjal and Roman Saini, and Anil Goteti, the Bengaluru-based math-focused mobile gaming platform Matiks has raised $3.1 million (roughly Rs 27 crore) in a pre-Series A funding round led by Tanglin Ventures.
In a press release, Matiks stated that the new funding would be used to increase its workforce, step up marketing, improve its product line, and penetrate new markets.
Matiks, which was co-founded in September 2024 by Sudhanshu Bhatia, Mohan Kumar, and Sushant Timmapur, offers mobile games that let users practice their mathematical abilities. Users can also compete with one another.
According to market research, the gaming industry in India is currently valued at approximately $3.8 billion and is anticipated to grow to $9.2 billion by FY29.
The company claims that its features, which include global leaderboards, daily challenges, live 1v1 and multiplayer math duels, and personalized progress tracking, make math practice enjoyable and engaging for users of all ages. With an emphasis on speed, memory, puzzles, and other aspects, the platform provides games in a variety of categories. To encourage greater participation, it also holds weekly competitions.
There is a Discord community on Matiks, and users can add friends. A paid “Creators Programme” that enables users to create communities on the platform was recently introduced.
