Moroccan super app ORA Technologies raised $1.9 M Pre-series A funding

A US $1.9 million pre-Series A round of funding has been closed by Morocco-based superapp ORA Technologies to expand its food delivery service and its recently introduced digital payment and money transfer solution.

The ORA app, which was created in 2023 by Omar Alami, has several features, such as social networking, on-demand services, chat functionality, P2P transactions, and an e-commerce platform.

In order to expand its food delivery service, Kooul, and speed up its recently launched digital payment and money transfer solution, ORA Cash, the startup has obtained a US $1.9 million pre-Series A round of funding led by Witamax and Azur Innovation Fund. With this round, ORA has raised a total of US $4.4 million in funding.

“This fundraising comes at a time where all eyes are on Morocco. Our country is the very next tech hub in Africa, benefiting from solid macro fundamentals, a stable currency, a deep consuming market of 40 million people and a new wave of smart and competitive tech founders empowered by a huge government-led digital and financial inclusion initiative,” Alami said.
