New construction-tech incubator launched in Egypt launched to advance entrepreneurship ecosystem
The DarE Incubator was established in Egypt by the VC firms Dar Ventures and Acasia Group in an effort to advance the entrepreneurship ecosystem in the architecture, engineering, and construction (AEC) sector.
The venture capital arm of the renowned design and engineering consultancy Dar Al-Handasah (Shair and Partners), Dar Ventures, and the investing and impact platform Acasia Group, formerly Cairo Angels, both support and empower the upcoming generation of technology entrepreneurs in the Middle East and Africa.
The DarE Incubator, a six-month program run by Acasia Group and created by the two organizations, provides AEC tech founders with up to US $50,000 in equity-free funding and a complete toolkit to help them launch their startups. At an event held at Founders Spaces in Cairo, the incubator was introduced. More than 50 guests, including important figures from the AEC startup scene and the entrepreneurship ecosystem, were present.
“The AEC industry is on the cusp of tremendous growth, with a projected global value of US$12.26 trillion by the end of 2023. Recognising this, we are excited to lead the charge in transforming the industry by fostering entrepreneurship and tech innovation right here in Egypt and across the MENA region,” said Zeina Mandour, venture investments manager at Dar Ventures.
