New programme launched to help women, youth thrive in Nigeria’s creative sector
The Africa Creative Blueprint (ACB), which was launched by Nigerian venture capital firm Venture Garden Group (VGG) in collaboration with Ascend Studios and USAID, aims to assist women and young people in thriving in Nigeria’s creative industry by offering resources, skills, and innovative capacity-building.
Nigerian creatives will be promoted to the global arena and given the tools and resources they need to compete in the creative industry thanks to the Africa Creative Blueprint.
It provides engaging, practical training to boost Africa’s creative economy. Following completion, 200 qualified individuals will work on a 13-episode television drama, generating more than 200 full-time and part-time jobs throughout the production process.
Along with other partners like Paramount Nigeria and the well-known music executive Ralph Simon, the partnership will spur more funding to support Nigeria’s developing Nollywood sector.
“We are always committed to efforts that nurture the promising talents Africa possesses,” said Bunmi Akinyemiju, CEO and co-founder of Venture Garden Group. “This collaboration represents a milestone for the Nigerian creative sector, and an opportunity for Venture Garden Group to drive impact in African creativity on a global platform. Through this initiative, we are building the infrastructure needed to develop world-class creative talent capable of transforming the industry.”
Applications are open here until December 15.
