Nigerian health-tech startup Clafiya raised $610k Pre-seed funding

Nigerian startup Clafiya, which develops health technology, has raised $610,000 in a pre-seed round. In addition to online consultations, medication delivery, and collaborations with HMOs, it provides comprehensive healthcare solutions.

Clafiya, a health tech startup in Nigeria, has received $610,000 in pre-seed funding. Investors like Norrsken Accelerator, Acquired Wisdom Fund (AWF), Hustle Fund, Voltron Capital, Microtraction, Ajim Capital, HoaQ, Bold Angel Fund, Shivdasani Family, and other angel investors contributed to the round, which was a combination of venture capital funds, angel investments, and grants. According to the business, the investment will support team growth and product development.

Clafiya was established in 2021 and is now active in Lagos and Enugu. It links patients with healthcare professionals through in-person and online consultations, enabling them to receive medical advice and treatment without having to go to the trouble of going to the hospital.

“During the virtual consultation, the patient is connected to a doctor via video call, making it feel like an online clinic has come to their home,” shared Jennie Nwokoye, CEO of Clafiya, in an interview as per media reports.

The partnership network of Clafiya offers wellness and medical services in addition to consultations.

“Our initial goal was to bring healthcare closer to those who preferred avoiding hospitals. However, as our customers started requesting assistance with drug delivery, diagnostics, and mental health services, we evolved into an online primary healthcare clinic,” explained Nwokoye.

By facilitating medication delivery to patients’ doorsteps, the platform eliminates the need for tiresome trips to the pharmacy. The startup’s comprehensive healthcare service also offers the practical collection of diagnostic testing samples right at patients’ homes. Users can access wellness centers, nutritionists, gyms, and other specialized well-being services through Clafiya. In order to do this, it collaborates with companies that offer these services. Some of these companies are i-Fitness, Khairo Diet Clinic, Blueroomcare, Pharmarun, and Famasi Africa.
