For over 4 decades Nikon managed to remain a leader in the market with some of the best cameras that were available. The camera manufacturing company has decided to make a comeback in the healthcare industry with microscopy solutions, aiming to facilitate direct sales, service, and distribution. ‘AXR Point’, is the company’s latest system that is being developed which has the ability to improve confocal microscopy in the healthcare sector. It aims to achieve the capability of providing a field view- of 25mm in a single frame shot.
In order to give a boost to research and development in medicine, the product will be researched in premier institutes, and research centers and will also be funded by the Indian Government, academic institutions, and clinical centers which include hospitals and medical research centers. The product range includes General Microscope, In Vitro fertilization (IVF), and Systems Microscope Solutions.
Sajjan Kumar Nikon India MD said, “We plan to install AXR system in a few research institutes in India namely IIT Bhilai, IIT Mumbai, ACTREC Mumbai to name a few.” Further adding that microscopy has a huge potential and we are looking forward to its future prospects. Annual turnover is expected to be around 5% of Nikon’s operations expected to grow by 10% by the end of 2023.
