Octoco Group acquired SA software company Polymorph
The rapidly expanding Octoco group of Stellenbosch-based technology companies has acquired Polymorph, a prominent software product development consultancy in South Africa.
With its fully-integrated offering, Polymorph can take a product concept from its inception through user experience and interface design, research, ideation, and design thinking, prototyping, and final implementation.
Some of the biggest brands in South Africa have chosen to work with the company over the previous 12 years.
In contrast, G-J van Rooyen established Octoco in Stellenbosch in 2020 after his previous startup, Custos, a blockchain-based digital privacy startup, was involved in an investor dispute that was eventually settled.
The company has begun investing in tech startups, like Henlo Coffee, a company in its group that recently launched its machines in Vida e Cafe, and offers comprehensive engineering services, including software development, hardware engineering, and CTO support.
In a deal that makes the reputable software product development consultancy Polymorph Systems a sister company to Octoco Consulting within the larger Octoco Group, Polymorph Systems has now joined the Octoco Group of technology companies. The corporate offices of both businesses are in Techno Park, Stellenbosch.
“We think Polymorph’s approach to software product design is exceptional and we are very excited to welcome them to the group,” said Heinrich de Lange, Octoco CEO. “They strongly complement our technology consulting company’s services, and the more product-focused firms in our group stand to benefit from their extensive design expertise.”
