Omnisient, FinanceGPT selected for TechCrunch Disrupt Startup Battlefield 200 competition
To compete in the TechCrunch Disrupt Startup Battlefield 200 pitch competition, Omnisient and FinanceGPT have been chosen.
The 16 African startups chosen for this year’s TechCrunch Disrupt Startup Battlefield pitch competition include the South African startups Omnisient and FinanceGPT. The chosen startups will receive pitch coaching from TechCrunch journalists and VCs before making three-day presentations to investors present at the conference.
As a “privacy-preserving” data collaboration platform, Omnisient enables financial services institutions (FSIs) to use new consumer data sources safely and legally by offering cryptography, advanced analytics, and AI. According to Omnisient’s platform, local banks have already been able to use retail shopper data to identify 3.2 million people who would have previously been denied credit due to a lack of background information as credit-worthy. Additionally chosen in July, Omnisient was invited to become a Technology Pioneer at the World Economic Forum.
The startup responded to the choice by saying that taking part in the competition will hasten the process of raising money.
“We are in the midst of speaking to investors locally and overseas to raise Series A funding for international expansion and further development of our technology,” said Omnisient CEO, Jon Jacobson.
“Being invited to join TechCrunch’s Start-up Battlefield at TechCrunch Disrupt is not only international recognition of the disruptive nature of our platform and the impact we are having in growing financial inclusion but also a fantastic opportunity for us to fine-tune our pitch and share our story with an audience of US investors.”
A comprehensive view of a company’s financial health and forecasts is provided by FinanceGPT, on the other hand, which uses machine learning to generate charts and insights based on data to facilitate financial decision-making. According to the startup, its user base is primarily made up of financial experts and investors from numerous nations in Europe, Oceania, Asia, North America, South America, the Middle East, and Africa.
“We are happy to be selected for Startup Battlefield 2023,” said Phiwa Nkambule, CEO and co-founder of IPOXCap AI. “This is a great opportunity for us to showcase FinanceGPT to a global audience of investors and industry leaders. We believe that FinanceGPT has the potential to revolutionise the way financial analysis is done, and we are excited to share it with the world.”
One of the most prestigious early-stage pitch competitions in the world, TechCrunch Disrupt Startup Battlefield 200 has featured Dropbox, Yammer, Tripit, and Redbeacon among its previous competitors.
