Online shopping platform Meolaa raised $2 M Seed funding from Turbostart

The $2 million seed round for Meolaa, a platform for purpose-driven online shopping, was led by Turbostart.

According to a press release from Meolaa, the money will be used to expand and hire staff for its operations in India.

Meola, a company founded in 2022 by Ishita Sawant, provides products with a focus on sustainability in the fields of apparel, home improvement, baby care, and beauty. The startup says it has signed up 750 brands from various industries.

The startup, which is based in Mumbai, has a portfolio of more than 1,500 brands and a selection of more than 125,000 products spanning six categories. The startup asserts that since its January 2023 launch, orders, users, and GMV have grown by 100% MoM.

A group of investors, including Dale Vaz (Swiggy), Nikhil Vore (Sixth Sense Ventures), Sachin Bhartiya (Lighthouse Funds), and StrongHer Ventures, provided the startup with pre-seed funding of $165K last year.
