Pan-African Game Jam will be launched by Global Game Jam and Lagos Games Week

A new collaboration for Pan-African Jam 2026, a game jam being held as part of the official prelude to Lagos Games Week, has been announced by Global Game Jam (GGJ) and Lagos Games Week.
While Lagos Games Week, currently in its third year, is an annual video game trade show, Global Game Jam is a non-profit organization whose goal is to enable people all over the world to learn, experiment, and create together through the medium of games.
The goal of the Pan-African Jam, which will take place from April 24 to May 11, is to unite game developers from all over Africa so they can work together, produce, and present their work under the common theme of “Play Without Borders.”
In addition to fostering community and raising awareness of Lagos Games Week, it seeks to foster creativity, promote international cooperation, and showcase Africa’s expanding role in game development.
The jam will have a US $2,500 cash prize pool in addition to in-kind prizes, and winners from each category will be announced on May 25. Those who are interested can register here.
