Peak XV’s Surge led $3.5 M Pre-series A funding raised by BiteSpeed
In its pre-Series A round, which was led by Peak XV’s Surge, BiteSpeed, an AI-powered customer operating system for e-commerce brands, raised $3.5 million. Other participants include Dhruv Vohra (APAC Head, META), Whiteboard Capital, Gaurav Munjal (CEO, Unacademy), and Aakash Anand (CEO, Bella Vita).
After raising $2.1 million in two prior rounds led by Peak XV’s Surge and Whiteboard Capital, as well as more than 30 angel investors, including Kunal Shah (Founder, CRED), Ritesh Malik (Founder, Innov8), and Gaurav Sharma (Founder, SaaSLabs), BiteSpeed has now raised $5.6 million in total.
In order to support its international expansion, BiteSpeed says the money will be used to increase hiring in the technical, sales, and marketing divisions. Southeast Asia, the Middle East, Europe, and North America are important growth areas.
In order to further improve its range of products for e-commerce brands, the company also intends to intensify its research and development activities, especially in the area of generative AI.
Founded in 2019 by Vinayak Aggarwal, BiteSpeed streamlines customer communication across various channels, such as WhatsApp, Email, SMS, Instagram, and Push Notifications, and provides e-commerce brands with an AI-powered marketing, support, and chatbot suite that increases brand revenue by over 25%.
With a robust clientele in India, the Middle East, Southeast Asia (SEA), Europe, and North America, the company says it has worked with 2,500 Shopify brands across more than 50 countries. Among its notable clients are Zouk, Ugaoo, and Skybags.
