Pet care startup Supertails raised $15 M Series B funding
In its Series B funding round, full-stack pet care startup Supertails raised Rs 125 crore, or roughly $15 million, with the help of current investors Fireside Ventures, Saama Capital, DSG Consumer Partners, and Sauce VC. The round was led by RPSG Capital Ventures.
Supertails Pharmacy and other healthcare services will be expanded, as well as new customer acquisition and technology investments that facilitate business growth, according to a press release from the company.
Supertails also intends to use the money to develop an omnichannel customer experience and expand into offline business strategy.
The business raised $10 million in November 2022 from a combination of debt and equity in a Series A funding round headed by Fireside Ventures.
Since it was founded in June 2021, it has amassed $27.5 million in revenue.
Supertails, a company founded by Varun Sadana, Aman Tekriwal, and Vineet Khanna, provides tailored solutions to meet the changing needs of pet parents. A variety of food, treats, accessories, and other pet necessities are available through the Supertails app.
The company has added a pet pharmacy to its platform in an effort to better assist pet owners. This has allowed it to become a full-stack platform that provides pet supplies, online veterinary consultations, online behavior training, and a pet pharmacy.
Supertails’ operating income increased by 4.2X to Rs 33 crore in FY23 from Rs 7.82 crore in FY22.
In the next two years, Supertails hopes to reach an ARR of Rs 500 crore by stepping up its growth and expansion plans.
According to studies, there are about 35 million pets in India, and the market is estimated to be worth $5 billion, with a 15% compound annual growth rate. Supertails wants to maintain its leadership in this market.
Among its rivals are JustDogs, Goofy Tails, and Heads Up For Tails. Heads Up For Tails, led by Verlinvest and Peak XV Partners, raised $37 million in a Series A funding round to become the most funded startup in this category.
