Pet healthcare startup Dr. Doodley raises $3.3 M Pre-series A funding

In a pre-Series A funding round, pet healthcare startup Dr. Doodley has raised $3.3 million (about Rs 30 crore). V3 Ventures is leading the equity round, which consists of Rs 20 crore in equity and Rs 10 crore in debt.

Campus Fund and Thackersey Family Office are among the other investors in the round, as are 360 ONE Wealth founders Yatin Shah and Karan Bhagat and Dalmia Bharat Group managing director Gautam Dalmia.

The money raised will be utilized to improve clinical operations, increase hospital capacity, and get ready to enter other tier I cities.

Dr. Doodley, which was founded in 2023 by Utsav Bisaria and Yash Jayprakash Ladda, offers a combination of 24-hour multispecialty pet hospitals and veterinarian-at-home services. The company currently employs about 35 veterinarians and operates three hospitals in Bengaluru: Jayanagar, Yelahanka, and Whitefield.

In the upcoming year, Dr. Doodley intends to open four more hospitals in Bellandur, Indiranagar, Rajajinagar, and North Bengaluru, bringing his total to seven. The startup hopes to treat over a million pets during this time and grow its veterinary staff to more than 100 doctors.

Additionally, it intends to introduce a flat Rs 10,000 pricing model for surgeries across procedures and 30-minute vet-at-home services. In the last year, Dr. Doodley says, he has performed more than 1,000 surgeries and treated more than 30,000 pets.
