PM Modi drives startup culture at SCO Summit, promotes innovation & growth
The SCO Summit (Shanghai Cooperation Organization) was held on Tuesday, July 4, wherein PM Modi advocated for the promotion of a thriving startup culture, emphasizing innovation and economic growth. The aim of the SCO Summit was to foster collaboration along with tech advancements, among the member nations, with the vision of taking India ahead in the startup ecosystem.
An official from the Startup India forum, while speaking to the media, commented, “The forum aimed to expand startup interactions among the SCO member states and encourage innovation, employment generation, and talent building.”
PM Modi also recognized the power and potential of the Indian startups when it comes to employment, innovation, risk taking and boosting the economy. The government has backed several Indian startups helping them grow in terms of funds, mentorship, resources, networking etc.
By advocating for startups at the SCO Summit, PM Modi aims to inspire member nations towards embracing the entrepreneurial spirit. With the organization of the SCO Summit, Startup India, department of Promotion for Industry and Internal Trade under the Ministry of Commerce, also set up a meeting between SCO startups. Heads of countries including Russia, Belarus, Pakistan, China and Central Asian countries will be a part of the SCO Summit.
Furthermore, the SCO Summit is anticipated in resulting in an increased cooperation among member nations, with a focus on supporting the startups.
