Posha secured $8 M Series A funding from Accel

In a Series A funding round headed by Accel, Posha, a manufacturer of kitchen assistance robots, has raised $8 million, or roughly Rs 67 crore. Angel investors like Binny Bansal, a co-founder of Flipkart, and other current investors like Xeed Ventures and WaterBridge Ventures also participated in the round.
The business had already raised $8.81 million.
The new funding will be used to enhance the kitchen robot’s user interface and grow the recipe database, according to a press release from Posha.
Posha (formerly Nymble), a kitchen robotics company co-founded in 2016 by Raghav Gupta and Rohin Malhotra, is creating and marketing a countertop robot that automates cooking procedures. The company’s flagship product is a kitchen robot that prepares meals, follows recipes, and modifies ingredients and heat levels using artificial intelligence, computer vision, and robotics.
The San Francisco-based business claims that it provides a large selection of recipes from different cuisines and can be customized to suit personal preferences. Because of its ability to add ingredients, regulate heat, and change the amount of spice, its robot can be considered a “private chef in every kitchen.”
To recognize ingredients, comprehend recipes, and make accurate cooking decisions, the robot makes use of AI and vision models. Because of its simplicity, it can be used by those who lack the time or experience to prepare meals.
The Indian market for smart kitchen appliances is anticipated to grow to $19.31 billion by 2030, per market research.
Posha wants to make cooking at home healthier and easier by making it possible to prepare fresh food. The robot is priced at $1,500 (approximately Rs 2 lakh) by the startup, which also offers a subscription model for access to personalized recipes. The manufacturer asserts that its appliance can prepare more than 1,000 recipes in more than ten different cuisines.
Other prominent companies in this market are Beyond Appliances, Mukunda Foods, and Evochef.
