PrepInsta acquired by Adda247 to foray into job focused offerings
As part of its growth strategy, the Google-backed edtech startup Adda247 purchased the placement preparation platform PrepInsta.
Adda247 purchased the Ekagrata Eduserv chartered accountancy (CA) test preparation platform in July of this year for an undisclosed sum.
This growth represents a critical turning point in Adda247’s evolution from a test-prep website to a comprehensive supplier of career-focused education and skill-building initiatives for both public and private sector positions.
Adda247, a company that Anil Nagar and Saurabh Bansal co-founded in 2016, provides live online classes, on-demand video courses, mock exams, and e-books among its services. Furthermore, the company has entered the higher education and skill-upgrading sectors.
The company states that 2 million students are enrolled in its premium courses, and it serves over 40 million users each month.
A platform called PrepInsta (PI) helps engineering students get ready for exams and interviews so they can land jobs as software engineers, data scientists, full stack developers, and quality analysts, among other positions.
Job seekers can reportedly get assistance from PrepInsta in preparing for careers in GCCs, GSIs, and digital companies through a robust pipeline of programs covering topics like gen AI, AI/ML, cloud, data, and the wider digital landscape.
Three significant acquisitions were made by Adda247 prior to PrepInsta: StudyIQ, an ed-tech platform with an emphasis on the UPSC, in 2021; Veeksha, a 3D experiential learning company, in 2023; and Ekagrata, a CA test-prep platform, in 2024.
Additionally, the business recently introduced its first-ever ESOP buyback program, which will help more than 130 workers.
