Qualcomm Make in Africa Startup Mentorship Programme open for applications
The renowned international wireless technology company Qualcomm is now accepting applications for its Make in Africa Startup Mentorship Program, which provides entrepreneurs with access to engineers, coaching, and advice on intellectual property protection.
The NASDAQ-traded company Qualcomm is a multinational corporation based in the United States that develops semiconductors, software, and wireless technology services.
Media outlets stated in December 2022 that the business had introduced its African Innovation Platform, a collection of training, education, and mentorship initiatives designed to aid in the growth of Africa’s nascent technology sector.
In addition to introducing them to Qualcomm’s engineers and its cutting-edge capabilities suite for mobile platforms and technologies, such as 4G, 5G, IoT, AI, and machine learning, the platform will offer resources and support to nearby universities, small-to-medium-sized startups, and grant participants.
It has since expanded on this with the introduction of the Made in Africa Startup Mentorship Programme, an equity-free mentorship program that will identify promising early-stage startups eager to apply cutting-edge processing and connectivity technologies to creative end-to-end systems solutions, including hardware. These companies will receive business coaching, access to engineering consultation for product development, and advice on intellectual property protection.
The program will run from April to November, and applications are accepted until February 18th. A demo day is scheduled for December to wrap things up.
