Quantified Energy obtained Series A funding from Vertex Ventures Southeast Asia & India

Deep tech startup Quantified Energy (QE), based in Singapore, announced on Tuesday that Vertex Ventures Southeast Asia & India is leading its Series A fundraising.

In order to meet the demands of the rapidly expanding solar industry, QE plans to double down on product innovations and expedite its global business development efforts with this most recent funding round, the company said in a statement.

“With this new round of funding, we will be rolling out our second-generation drone electroluminescence (EL) inspection solution globally,” the firm’s Chief Executive Officer Dr. Yan Wang said.

“Any partner operating a DJI M300/M350 drone can plug in QE’s EL payload and subscribe to our ‘pay-per-use’ model—instantly unlocking the ability to perform high-throughput EL inspections for clients,

“Through this approach, we contribute to safeguarding the exponential growth of the solar photovoltaics (PV) industry,” he added.

The founders of QE, he added, are solar researchers from Asia and Europe who gathered in Singapore with the common goal of ensuring that every PV module is useful for the duration of its life.

BloombergNEF estimates that up to 4.5 TW of new solar PV capacity will be installed between now and 2030, indicating that the global solar market is expanding quickly.

Large-scale systems continue to be the main force behind this growth.

Through the provision of accurate and non-destructive in-situ diagnostics for solar power systems at previously unheard-of throughput, QE enables solar asset owners and financiers to enhance safety and lower the risk of premature degradation.

Consequently, this enhances asset performance over the course of a solar PV system’s lifecycle, resulting in increased energy yield and better return on investment.

Established in 2021 as a spin-off from the National University of Singapore’s Solar Energy Research Institute of Singapore (SERIS), QE is a business that uses artificial intelligence (AI) to drive analytics and inspection in order to improve the performance of solar assets.

Drone technology and proprietary software are combined by QE to provide actionable insights that maximize solar installations’ sustainability, dependability, and efficiency.

The company offers utility-scale and commercial solar system inspection services and created an autonomous drone EL mapping solution.

Asia, Europe, Oceania, and the Middle East are among the regions where the company has implemented its solutions.

QE finished the largest EL inspection in the world last year, covering over a million PV modules at one location in just three weeks.
