Residential rooftop solar firm SolarSquare raised $53 M Series C funding
As part of its recently announced $53 million Series C fundraising round, residential rooftop solar firm SolarSquare has revealed that former Indian cricket captain MS Dhoni has contributed to the business through his family business, Midas Deals.
Dhoni would become a brand ambassador for the firm as well.
With the new funding, the company intends to increase its market share and hasten the uptake of residential rooftop solar in India.
SolarSquare, which was founded by Shreya Mishra and Nikhil Nahar, offers complete rooftop solar solutions, including financing, installation, advice, monitoring, and post-purchase assistance. More than 50,000 households in 29 locations have rooftop solar systems installed, according to the company.
After the Series C investment, SolarSquare intends to invest in customer service infrastructure, grow into 30 to 40 additional cities, improve its technology platform, and increase financing choices.
Lowercarbon Capital, NGP Capital, Elevation Capital, and current investors participated in SolarSquare’s $53 million Series C investment round earlier this month, which was led by Lightspeed.
