Ronin Wines received $675k Pre-Series A funding from Rainmatter

Moonshine Meadery’s mead is produced by Ronin Wines, which also revealed that it has raised $675k in a pre-Series A round co-led by Rainmatter Capital, which is backed by Zerodha, and Grip Invest. Other investors included Auxano Capital, Supermorpheus, Anthill Capital, and others.

According to a press release from Ronin Wines, the money will be used to promote better beekeeping techniques and improve sales and distribution.

Nitin Vishwas and Rohan Rehani, who co-founded Ronin Wines in 2016, create mead by fermenting honey with a variety of fruits and spices. The company claims that in order to offer a varied selection of meads that appeal to different tastes, it innovates and experiments with a variety of ingredients, including multifloral honey, orange blossom honey, coffee beans, guavas, apples, chillies, kaffir lime, and more.

Maharashtra, Karnataka, Assam, Rajasthan, Goa, Himachal Pradesh, Haryana, and Silvassa are all serviced by the Pune-based company.

Evolved Foods, a provider of plant-based proteins, raised Rs 7.3 crore in its seed round prior to Rainmatter’s investment last month. The fund also supported the fintech platform MProfit in its initial funding round earlier this year.
