Rural commerce startup Rozana raised $22.5 M from Bertelsmann India
With the help of Fireside Ventures and current investors, rural commerce startup Rozana has raised $22.5 million under the leadership of Bertelsmann India Investments (BII).
Prior to this round, in April 2022, the startup had raised $2.5 million from 3one4 Capital and Europe’s IEG – Investment Banking Group in its pre-Series A round.
Rozana plans to employ more people in its operations, product, and technology teams as well as improve its technology platform and reach new districts with its warehousing and logistics services.
Ankur Dahiya, Adwait Vikram Singh, Mukesh Christopher, and Prithvi Pal Singh founded Rozana in 2021 with the goal of meeting the needs of rural communities in India through an e-commerce platform and logistics network.
Currently, the startup operates in 13 districts in Uttar Pradesh and Haryana, serving over 12,000 villages.
Using “peer partners” in villages, Rozana has developed a hyperlocal e-commerce model for last-mile deliveries. Rozana is able to maintain low costs by providing convenient doorstep delivery services to its rural customers. It currently has a network of more than 18,000 peer partners who can use Rozana to increase their income.
