Cue was established in 2015 and uses chatbots and live chat on WhatsApp and social media platforms to help businesses assist clients in a timely and effective manner. More than 500 businesses and brands in South Africa and the UK rely on it to power consumer discussions.
AI Agents, a new tool that enables organizations to automate routine questions, personalize customer interactions, and provide outstanding service at scale, was reportedly introduced by the startup in late 2024.
In a funding round co-led by Knife Capital and FAM Investments, Cue has now raised US$5 million, which will support ongoing product development, global expansion, and increased investment in voice, security, and enterprise connections. This comes after an early 2024 financing of US$2 million.
“It’s an exciting time of transformation for the company,” said Richard Nischk, CEO of Cue. “We’re at an inflection point for AI in customer service, and we see more businesses starting to realise that they need a unified platform to succeed, not a patchwork of point solutions.”
