$107 M in digital exports produced by 83 Malaysian tech companies signing MOUs in Indonesia

26 memorandums of understanding (MOUs) have been signed by 83 Malaysian tech companies in Indonesia, increasing ASEAN cybersecurity and artificial intelligence (AI) ties and generating over MYR 450 million ($107 million) in digital exports.
In a statement released on Thursday, the Malaysia Digital Economy Corporation (MDEC) stated that it is still spearheading Malaysia’s digital economy throughout ASEAN, enhancing regional collaboration and opening up markets for Malaysian businesses.
Under its most recent initiative, the DEX CONNEX Indonesia program, the MOUs were signed.
26 Memorandums of Understanding between Malaysian and Indonesian businesses were made possible by DEX CONNEX Indonesia, a significant regional initiative.
These agreements cover industries like talent development, cloud services, food and beverage (F&B), artificial intelligence (AI), cybersecurity, and digital platforms.
With Malaysia serving as ASEAN Chair and promoting innovation as a catalyst for resilience and regional growth, they are intended to establish a strong and cooperative digital ecosystem throughout ASEAN.
Anuar Fariz Fadzil, the CEO of MDEC, called Indonesia “a vital partner in Malaysia’s digital ambitions.”
“Through DEX CONNEX, Malaysia is focusing on cross-border collaborations to continue building a resilient digital bridge between two thriving ecosystems,
“With our strong tech ecosystem and the spirit of ASEAN unity, both nations continue to nurture a future where digital growth is inclusive, sustainable, and benefits all layers of society, ensuring long-term success,” he added.
