SA’s Kenai obtains strategic investment to boost growth and expand globally

The smart engine powering tomorrow’s workplaces, South African startup Kenai, has attracted strategic investment to boost its development and global reach.

Access control is transformed into a smooth, intelligent layer of the workplace by the Johannesburg-based Kenai, which lowers friction, enhances security results, and improves how people and assets move through buildings.

Several of the biggest businesses in South Africa, such as Nedbank, Capitec, Deloitte, Vivo Energy, Eskom, and many more, already use the platform.

New Zealand-based Gallagher Security, a world leader in integrated security solutions, has now made a strategic investment in it. With a presence in more than 160 nations, Gallagher is relied upon to safeguard some of the most challenging and secure environments on the planet.

After years of intense cooperation, during which Kenai’s software performed exceptionally well in high-security, live settings, Gallagher made the investment. The investment formally establishes a delivery-based partnership, with Gallagher supporting Kenai as the undisputed leader in the contextual access technology category.

“We’ve loved working with Gallagher over the years. They’re a sharp team with a great product, who understand the scale of the opportunity Kenai has to provide: a context layer for every corporate worldwide,” said Robert Salzwedel, co-founder and CEO of Kenai. “This investment will allow us to accelerate our already strong growth, and build the team as we expand internationally.”

The chief executive of Gallagher, Mark Junge, expressed his excitement about strengthening his company’s partnership with Kenai.

“They’re solving an incredibly complex problem that affects most businesses. Our end customers and channel partners ask us to solve this problem for them on a daily basis, and we’re excited to work with Kenai to roll this out through our global network,” he said.
