SatLeo Labs raised $3.3 M Pre-seed funding from Merak Ventures

The spacetech startup SatLeo Labs, which specializes in thermal imaging from Low Earth Orbit (LEO), has raised $3.3 million in its pre-seed funding round, which was led by Merak Ventures and included Huddle Ventures.
Angel investors Manish Gandhi and Dheer Baldua have also taken part, along with GVFL, Java Capital, IIMA Ventures, and PointOne Capital.
The money raised will be utilized for SatLeo’s in-house thermal imaging payload, team growth, infrastructure improvements, and regulatory clearances.
Ranendu Ghosh and Shravan Bhati founded SatLeo Labs, which is creating high-resolution thermal and visible imaging systems to provide useful information for strategic surveillance, energy, urban planning, and agriculture applications.
A dual-band, fused multispectral imaging system is being constructed by the Ahmedabad-based startup with the goal of developing scalable solutions for climate-sensitive industries.
According to the platform, its technology can support emission reduction targets and sustainable development outcomes while reducing climate change-related risks like crop loss and wildfires.
