Second call for applications from African startups in healthcare supply chains announced by i3
Leading innovators are needed to join the second cohort of Investing in Innovation Africa (i3), a pan-African initiative for startups creating the future of healthcare supply chains.
The i3 initiative, supported by the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation and AmerisourceBergen, Merck Sharp & Dohme (MSD), Microsoft, and Chemonics, is assisting 60 promising early-stage and growth-stage businesses with their commercialization efforts.
In order to support startups’ growth and impact, the program links African-led supply chain innovators with donors, business partners, and government partners. Selected startups receive a US $50,000 grant, customized investment readiness support, and targeted introductions to customers to support commercialization and impact. Choosing women-led businesses and those doing business in Francophone regions is a priority for i3.
Applications are accepted until June 26. On September 14, the chosen startups will be disclosed. The first cohort, chosen in September 2022, included 31 innovators enhancing access to health products across more than 24,000 hospitals, clinics, and pharmacies in 26 African countries.
