Second Irish Tech Challenge South Africa now accepting applications

The Irish Tech Challenge South Africa offers South African technology startups the chance to gain exposure abroad and gain access to international markets.

The Irish Tech Challenge South Africa is an initiative of the Irish Embassy in South Africa in partnership with the Department of Science and Innovation (DSI), the Technology Innovation Agency (TIA), and Impact Amplifier. It aims to forge beneficial alliances between Irish tech expertise and South African tech entrepreneurs to promote innovation, job creation, and inclusive economic growth in South Africa.

High-potential South African tech entrepreneurs who are prepared to scale internationally and increase their impact are being accelerated by the organizers, but they face obstacles like a lack of funding and access to the necessary global networks and infrastructure.

Businesses owned and operated by women, young people, and people from communities with a history of disadvantage will be given priority consideration.

With up to EUR10,000 (US $11,000) in funding support, five tech entrepreneurs will have the chance to expand their networks in Ireland, Europe, and South Africa.

Applications are open now.
