Senegalese cloud communication startup LAfricaMobile raised additional $2.2 M Series A funding
In an effort to become the leader in AI-powered communication throughout Francophone Africa, Senegalese cloud communication startup LAfricaMobile has raised an additional US $2.2 million to its Series A funding round, bringing the total to US $6.8 million.
LAfricaMobile, which was established in 2014, enables customers to use mobile technologies such as SMS, USSD, voice, WhatsApp, airtime, and text-to-speech to conduct extensive communication campaigns.
The French public investment bank Bpifrance and other private investors have contributed an additional US $2.2 million to the startup’s US $4.6 million Series A round, which was led by Janngo Capital, according to media reports earlier this year.
The money will be used by LAfricaMobile for regional expansion, R&D projects, and AI integration. LAM has connected more than 20 countries and more than 100 enterprise clients with almost 100 million transactions.
