Senior citizens to power the new age with innovations
Recently Nextinnings conducted a pilot project with the residents of Prestige Casabella, Electronic City, Bangalore where the aim of the startup was to teach elderly people about WhatsApp so that they could get in touch with technology. The demonstration last for about 40 minutes. The demonstration included changing WhatsApp wallpapers, typing in different languages, changing ringtones, and disappearing WhatsApp messages.
Another session was conducted where they were taught how to use Google Meet making it easier for them to participate in online sessions, social media, etc.
Nextinnings was launched in 2016 and founded by Binay Jha. Aiming to prove that senior citizens could also bring innovative solutions with ideas to the table apart from the youth.
This first-of-its-kind startup was founded by Binay Jha in 2016. Nextinnings is funded by ‘deep tech-focused micro fund PESU Venture Labs, founded by CoCreate Ventures and PES University. Founded by Ananya Mungara, a computer science student at PES University, and Priya, founder of Culture Place, a platform by Just Books.
Ananya adds, “The sessions will be curated according to their interest. Apartment complexes and communities for the elderly can approach us to host these sessions. Currently, these meetings are free. Depending on the response, we may monetize them in the future”.
