Singapore-based e-grocery platform UglyFood made the announcement that it is ceasing operations due to insufficient funding.
The company informed consumers through email that it was no longer accepting orders and that all scheduled deliveries would be reimbursed. A walk-in closing sale will also be held from January 5 to January 8 at the location.
UglyFood, a company that was founded in 2017, sells more “ugly” fruits and vegetables in addition to its own branded items and sustainably produced products. Crunchbase indicates that the business had previously raised US $120,000 in a pre-seed round.
According to a story from 2021, UglyFood was in discussions with three investors to secure $1 million in early finance.
