Singapore provides AI capabilities to 2,000 local enterprises

Singapore’s Infocomm Media Development Authority (IMDA) will step up efforts under its Digital Leaders Program (DLP) to help 2,000 local digitally mature businesses or digital leaders from a variety of sectors confidently use AI over the next three years in an effort to hasten the adoption of AI in businesses.
In a statement released last Friday, IMDA stated that businesses are the main forces behind Singapore’s digital economy and that it has created tools and programs to enable all businesses to successfully use AI to transform their operations in order to boost sales, boost productivity, find new markets, and seize new growth prospects.
In order to help digitally ambitious and forward-thinking local businesses advance their digital transformation, develop digital capabilities, and seize new business opportunities both domestically and internationally, IMDA launched its DLP in 2021.
DLP has been in place for a few years, and in order to meet industry demands, IMDA is improving the program in three ways.
First, by giving businesses the information and abilities to strategically use AI through Tech Discovery Workshops co-organized with industry experts and Playbooks to offer helpful advice, it is improving leadership mindset.
Second, by leveraging the experience of tech giants and a network of partners, it is empowering businesses to create and implement meaningful AI projects.
Thirdly, it is fostering the development of autonomous, internal capabilities by offering financial assistance for the recruitment of internal digital teams, allowing businesses to confidently scale and operationalize AI projects.
IMDA will work with industry partners to develop and implement a more structured program based on this three-pronged approach. This program will help willing, committed, and capable businesses turn their digital ambitions into workable plans that will lead to measurable results.
By laying the digital foundation, identifying high-impact business opportunities, providing quick-win solutions, and securing commitment to digital transformation, the improved program seeks to give participating enterprises the skills and practical insights they need to drive stronger pull-through to sustain digital transformation efforts.
Practical, modular training and awareness sessions on the technical and business aspects of digital transformation—including topics like artificial intelligence, data, and business re-design—are used to put the digital foundation into practice.
In order to prioritize digital initiatives with higher return on investments (ROI), IMDA is using business use cases, expert coaching, and simulation to identify high-impact business opportunities.
