Skye Renewables Energy secured $15 M funding from responsAbility for SEA expansion

Singaporean solar energy developer Skye Renewables Energy Pte Ltd has raised $15 million from responsAbility Investments AG.
The funding facility will be used to support the development of renewable assets in Malaysia, the Philippines, and Vietnam, the company’s primary markets, according to a statement released by Skye on Wednesday. These assets will include both offsite/grid-connected renewables for corporate off-takers and onsite/rooftop solar systems.
“Having a firm of responsAbility’s calibre and experience providing funding to Skye is very exciting and a true testament to the great work by our team since we started in 2021,
“We hope that this is the start of a long and multi-faceted relationship with responsAbility,” Skye’s Founder and Chief Executive Officer Ross Coull said.
According to Jay Bathija, Principal, Climate Infrastructure Investments at responsAbility, Skye Renewables exemplifies the kind of Southeast Asia-focused platform that they aim to support—one that blends scalable execution with local market insight.
“This investment supports the continued expansion of clean energy solutions across the region and aligns with our strategy to scale climate infrastructure investments in high-growth Asian markets,” he added.
Additionally, British International Investment, the UK’s development finance organization, and Idemitsu Kosan Co., Ltd., a Japanese diversified energy group, support Skye.
