Social networking platform Oopar Club raised Pre-seed funding from PedalStart

With participation from co-founder of Paper Arizona Ankitt Jain, startup community builder PedalStart led the first pre-seed funding round for Oopar Club, a community-driven social networking and socialization-tech platform, which raised Rs 50 lakh.

According to a news release from Oopar Club, the money raised will be used for team building, product and tech enhancement, user base growth, talent acquisition, and technology and flagship platform upgrades.

Sagar Agarwal, Pragya Srivastava, and Sourabh Akash co-founded Oopar Club in 2022 with the goal of creating a community-based ecosystem that helps adults connect and bond with like-minded individuals to maximize their personal growth and make true friends.

With a focus on today’s young and middle-aged working professionals in India’s tier I and tier II cities, the Bengaluru-based startup seeks to address the growing problem of urban loneliness, isolation, and stagnant personal growth.

The Oopar app is presently accessible for both iOS and Android, and it offers rewards to users who regularly engage in healthy behaviors and socialize with others. Its primary rivalry is with neighborhood associations and groups, with the goal of organizing the disorganized market.

According to PedalStart, there are 10,000 startups, more than 300 mentors, and 800 founders in its community. In addition to investing in cleantech, agritech, insuretech, and healthcare & network, the sector-agnostic platform is also looking to invest in deep tech, robotics, and medical science. Among others, it has supported startups like OhLocal, BetterSpace, Rupid, Newtral.io, and Bull Agritech.
