Startup Bangladesh Limited invested $500k in ShareTrip
A government-sponsored venture capital business, Startup Bangladesh Limited, has invested US $500,000 in ShareTrip, a Bangladesh-based online travel agency.
The transaction brought the business’s overall capital raised to date to almost $7 million USD.
ShareTrip, formerly known as Travel Booking Bangladesh, was established in 2014 by former Nokia executive Sadia Haque. In 2019, the company changed its name to reflect its present identity. Through its website and app, the online travel agency enables consumers to make reservations for trips, lodging, and events. Additionally, it features a loyalty program called TripCoin that rewards users for using the site to play games or make service reservations.
The firm has welcomed over 5,000 agents into its network since it was founded and has assisted over 500,000 tourists. At the moment, it employs around 150 people.
According to a statement from ShareTrip, it presently holds the greatest proportion of the nation’s online travel industry. The business intends to use the new money for worldwide growth.
