‘Startup gateway for garbage-free cities’ reviewed by IIT-Kanpur
With assistance from the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs, the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Kanpur held its first program review committee meeting for the flagship program “Startup Gateway for Garbage Free Cities” through its technology business incubator Startup Incubation and Innovation Centre (SIIC) (MoHUA).
The program aims to offer assistance to start-ups engaged in social and technological innovation. They will be assisted in overcoming India’s waste management difficulties thanks to this support, which will increase the effectiveness of waste management, the social impact it has, and the transparency of the waste-to-value chain.
The program committee carried out a thorough assessment of the advancement made by each of the 20 startups chosen for the program’s first cohort, according to a statement issued by IIT-K.
These startups will each receive a grant of Rs 20 lakhs as part of the program’s offerings to support the development of their technologies and businesses.
They will also have access to mentorship, lab resources, and business contacts. In order to facilitate the implementation of startups’ solutions in the waste-to-value sector on the ground, the program seeks to connect startups with corporates and Urban Local Bodies.
