With participation from MassMutual Ventures, Tanglin Venture Partners, Endiya Partners, and Cure.fit (now Cult.fit), Sugar.fit, a healthtech company specializing in type 2 diabetes and prediabetes, has raised an additional $5 million in its Series A round of funding.
The startup, led by MassMutual Ventures, had raised $11 million in its Series A round in October of last year.
According to a press release from the company, Sugar.fit will use the additional funding to accelerate research and development into diabetes management, grow brand awareness, and broaden its product line and technology stack.
Sugar.fit, founded by Madan Somasundaram, provides a diabetes care program that blends cutting-edge technology with individualized human interventions. Nutritionists and doctors who specialize in diabetes use tools like fitness trackers, continuous glucose monitors, and health diagnostics to track how users’ lifestyle choices affect their blood sugar levels in real-time.
With over 30,000 users on its platform at present, the brand claims to have seen a notable increase in paid subscribers during the past 18 months.
The company launched its omnichannel presence in Bengaluru and currently runs seven diabetes clinics with medical professionals specializing in diabetes treatment throughout the city.
