Tech-driven event planning startup Mila Celebrations raised $227K Pre-seed funding

Mila Celebrations, an early 2024 startup that specializes in tech-driven event planning, has raised SAR850,000 ($227,000) from angel investors in a pre-Seed round. The business has already planned more than 1,000 events, such as graduations, birthday celebrations, and weddings, putting it in a position to take advantage of Saudi Arabia’s booming event industry, which brings in more than SAR50 billion yearly.

Family celebrations, including lavish spending on weddings, birthdays, and other life milestones, are an important part of Saudi Arabian culture. Through Mila, users spend an average of more than SAR3,000 on birthday celebrations, and wedding expenses often exceed SAR200,000, which reflects the nation’s custom of making significant financial investments in family gatherings.

With everything from décor to catering, photography, and entertainment, Mila’s platform provides a seamless approach to event planning, making it a major player in the trend toward convenient and digital event planning. “The event industry in Saudi Arabia is evolving, and we aim to provide a premium service that makes celebrating special moments easier and more enjoyable,” said founder Muhammad Ghourbal, highlighting the growing demand in the region.

As one of the nations with the highest wedding expenditures per person, Saudi Arabia puts Mila in a strong position to satisfy the growing demand for premium event services. The money that was recently raised will be put toward improving Mila’s app, growing its service portfolio, and focusing on more events—including business gatherings.

The event and celebration industry are expected to grow further as the Saudi government continues to push for economic diversification and domestic tourism under Vision 2030. Mila intends to take advantage of this chance, hoping to grow not just in Saudi Arabia but also in the larger Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) market.
