Tech sports firm Game Theory raised $2 M Pre-Series A funding from multiple investors

Tech sports company Game Theory has raised $2 million in a pre-Series A funding round from a number of investors, including Balakrishna Adiga, WEH Ventures, Rohan Bopanna, Nitin Kamath’s Rainmatter, and Nitin Kamath.

In its initial angel round, Techstars and others contributed $500,000 to Game Theory in 2020.

According to a press release from Game Theory, the additional funds will be used to advance technology, create skill-based matchmaking, create coaching products, and broaden the reach of smart sporting facilities across the nation.

Sudeep Kulkarni founded Game Theory in 2018, and it offers interactive features like real-time scorekeeping, video highlights, pro sports like stats, and on-court matchmaking to improve the user experience. By adding more centers, the company hopes to increase its reach. Tennis, table tennis, and football will soon be added in addition to already popular sports like badminton, swimming, and squash.

According to Game Theory, the underlying technology that is currently being developed will use a gamified experience to encourage habit creation in users while providing a playing experience on-court/on-field like automated scoring, game highlights, and pro-sports like stats.
