Telangana is top Start-up destination in country: Jayesh Ranjan
Mr Jayesh Ranjan, Principal Secretary, Department of Industries and Commerce (I&C) & Information Technology, Government of Telangana, stated on Saturday that the state is the country’s top startup location.
On a virtual platform, CII, in collaboration with the Government of Telangana, hosted a session on Startups: Telangana as a Start-up Destination – Today’s Growth Story.
Mr Jayesh Ranjan, who spoke at the Inaugural Session, emphasised how Telangana has emerged as a top destination for start-ups, with over 400 already operating in the state.
The aggressive policies and existing environment of the Telangana government are a huge benefit to start-ups, and the State Government is prioritising the use of relevant services provided by start-ups.
He also advised the sector to prioritise start-ups when it comes to obtaining appropriate solutions. He advised micro-analysis of the funding mechanism for start-ups when discussing funding.
He went on to say that in order to make the startup ecosystem more inclusive, it is necessary to nourish the seeds of creativity and entrepreneurship in rural regions. He praised CII for putting up the Startup – Corporate Connect project as part of ICONN 2021.
In his special presentation, Mr Srinivas Rao Mahankali, CEO of T-Hub, spoke about how T-Hub is building a world-class environment in the country that promotes and develops entrepreneurship and innovation.
Mr Anubhav Kumar Das, an investment specialist from Invest India, gave a presentation on the Startup India Initiatives and the involvement of the government.
Mr Raja Gayam, CEO of Gayam Motor Works, spoke about the assistance he received from the Telangana government during his time as an incubatee at the T-Hub.
During their visit to T-Hub, he was quick to bring out how he could connect with Uber Leadership and turn it into a commercial opportunity.
While giving facts, Mr Sriram Subramanya, Chairman, CII SR Start-ups & Entrepreneurship Forum and Founder, MD & CEO, Integra Software Services, stated that India has the world’s third-biggest startup ecosystem, with roughly 6 businesses being founded every single day.
In the previous seven years, the number of startups has increased by 16 times. He also expressed his optimism for Telangana, claiming that it has one of the strongest start-up ecosystems in the country.
Mr Sriram mentioned that in conjunction with the Government of Telangana, CII will open a Centre of Excellence for Innovation, Entrepreneurship, and Start-ups (CIES) in Hyderabad in 2020.
