Third cohort for Mastercard Foundation EdTech Fellowship announced by Injini

The third iteration of the Injini Mastercard Foundation EdTech Fellowship in South Africa, which provides businesses with access to capital and other forms of assistance, has chosen twelve South African startups.
Injini is a registered non-profit organization that was established in 2017 with the express goal of enhancing educational outcomes in Sub-Saharan Africa. It is a part of the UVU Africa Group. Its programs and research through the Injini Think Tank support its mission to improve the caliber, accessibility, and relevance of education in the region. It is the only specialized ed-tech accelerator in Africa.
EduFeArn, Edulution Learning, Edutech Institute, and Huddle Education are among the third cohort of fellows chosen by Injini following a rigorous selection process.
Additionally chosen are SchoolAdvisor, OURS, Limu, OLICO Maths Education, and Keller Education. Thooto, TechWays, and Thuma Mina Teaching round out the cohort.
Like the alumni cohorts, the fellows will receive tailored support aimed at improving business sustainability, including readiness for investment when necessary; measuring impact effectively to show the value and scalability of their solutions; and broadening market access to reach students at the bottom of the educational pyramid.
“We believe that ed-tech, when used in impactful ways, can democratise education, enabling learners to access meaningful and relevant learning opportunities,” said Krista Davidson, executive director of Injini. “When selecting this cohort, we prioritised the most urgent needs [KB1] of South Africa’s education system such as teacher training, infrastructure deficits and access to relevant and quality education.”
