To support Indian defense-tech startups, Titan Capital launched investment vertical

A specialized investment vertical has been established by seed-stage venture capital firm Titan Capital to finance startups that are pioneering in India’s strategic technology and defense sectors.
Titan Capital hopes to invest through this program in startups in the manufacturing, cybersecurity, aerospace, and hardware industries. The priorities are deep-tech innovation, job creation, national security, and assisting India in becoming an exporter of strategic technologies.
Kunal Bahl, Co-founder of Titan Capital, said, “We need to back our brightest minds—engineers, researchers, and builders—to create sovereign, dual-use technologies that can shape not just India’s future, but the future of global defence…”.
Titan Capital is also seeking to work with scientists, seasoned technologists, and veterans of the armed forces as part of this initiative. These individuals can provide strategic insight and domain expertise to help evaluate and direct these investments.
Over 250 startups, including Ola, Razorpay, Urban Company, OfBusiness, and Giva, have received funding from Titan Capital to date. The goal of this new project is to influence the upcoming generation of strategic innovation at the nexus of nation-building, technology, and purpose.
